In accordance with the environmentally friendly and safe treatment and disposal of waste contaminated with mercury (Hg) for offshore and onshore in Thailand. Recently, BMT received a shipment of waste contaminated with mercury (Hg) which was transported directly to BMT’s facility in Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Samutprakarn.
Phongsathon Inthasurat, Commercial Manager in Thailand explains: “The waste has been put into reusable waste containers, labelled, tracked and transported to BMT, where it will be safely disposed of. Our highly trained and experienced team will be able to safely unload the Hg waste from the reusable waste containers into our own bins. After the reusable waste containers have been emptied, they can then be drained, cleaned and returned to our client for use in future shipments.
The waste will be sampled by a trained technician who will document the process of generating the waste, as well as look at the waste characteristics and estimate the quantity for disposal.
Once this analysis is complete, the results will be assessed by a trained chemist/hazardous waste professional, who will determine the appropriate treatment, recovery or disposal options for the waste according to the relevant environmental regulations and the client’s requirements.”
Through advanced distillation and retort technologies that use mechanical and thermal processes, BMT can safely dispose of all types of Hg-contaminated waste and mercury-containing items at our licensed waste treatment facilities.
