Samut Prakarn – 4 December 2025

BMT Asia Co., Ltd. organized BMT SHE Day 2025, reaffirming its commitment to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) by promoting safe mercury-handling practices and employee well-being across the organization. The event aimed to strengthen safety awareness, support occupational health, and foster a positive and sustainable workplace culture.

The morning session featured a knowledge-sharing seminar entitled “Safe Working with Mercury: Building a Safety Culture in the Workplace.” The session was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pensri Watchalayarn, an expert in Environmental Management, Toxicology, and Chemical Risk Assessment from the Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University. The lecture provided in-depth insights into occupational safety, health, and environmental considerations associated with working with mercury.

Key topics included mercury toxicology and exposure mechanisms, preventive and exposure-reduction measures, toxicological diagnostics, and the environmental impacts of mercury. The session sought to enhance employees’ understanding of mercury-related risks and to reinforce best practices for safe and responsible operations in line with international standards.

In the afternoon, BMT Asia hosted a Sport Day program to encourage employees to stay physically active and maintain healthy lifestyles. The activities promoted teamwork, engagement, and overall well-being, highlighting the importance of balancing workplace safety with personal health.

As part of the program, BMT Asia also presented the “BMT Fit No Fat” Award, recognizing employees who successfully maintain their Body Mass Index (BMI) within healthy standards. The initiative supports the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and reflects the company’s belief that personal health management is essential to long-term occupational safety.

Mr. Peerapong Sangdit, QSHE Manager of BMT Asia Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of knowledge and awareness in ensuring safe operations. “When employees understand how mercury affects the human body, how exposure occurs, and how it impacts the environment, they can work more safely and confidently,” he said. “Encouraging employees to take care of their own health—such as maintaining a healthy BMI—also helps reduce long-term health risks.”

BMT Asia continues to uphold high standards in safety, health, and environmental management while investing in employee development. Through initiatives such as SHE Day, the company aims to cultivate a strong safety culture and a healthy workforce as part of its long-term sustainability strategy.

With a strong focus on protecting human health, BMT Asia applies its technical expertise to deliver responsible and high-standard solutions for mercury-contaminated waste management. The company welcomes engagement with organizations seeking reliable and health-conscious approaches to mercury risk reduction.
