Samut Prakarn, Thailand — August – September 2025
BMT Asia Co., Ltd., Thailand’s leading mercury waste management specialist, has reaffirmed its commitment to employee health and safety through two key initiatives recently carried out for its workforce.
On 22 August 2025, BMT Asia conducted a Quantitative Fit Test (QNFT) for Operations & Excellence staff. The test ensures that tight-fitting respirators used in mercury waste treatment provide maximum protection. Using advanced equipment to measure potential leakage around the mask, the QNFT produces a numerical “fit factor”, confirming each respirator’s effectiveness in safeguarding employees during high-risk operations with mercury-contaminated waste.
On 1 September 2025, BMT Asia partnered with Paolo Hospital Samut Prakan to deliver its annual health check-up for all employees. Conducted under occupational health and medical surveillance, the program included physical examinations, audiometry for Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), spirometry, occupational vision testing, biomarker analyses, and related fitness assessments. These screenings help identify occupational health risks at an early stage and ensure that employees remain fit for duty.
BMT Asia is also extending preventive care by offering Hepatitis B vaccinations to staff who have not yet developed immunity. Scheduled for October, the program will help protect employees against a virus that can cause serious liver disease, underscoring the company’s proactive approach to workforce health.
Mr. Chairat Nattakittikoson, Managing Director of BMT Asia, underscored the importance of these initiatives:
“At BMT Asia, the safety and well-being of our people always come first. Programs such as the respirator fit test and comprehensive health check-ups are not only about compliance, but about care. They ensure our colleagues are protected every day as they carry out the challenging work of mercury recovery, which benefits both industry and society.”

BMT Asia continues to set industry benchmarks by recovering mercury safely and preventing its release into the environment, thereby safeguarding public health. The company plays a vital role in supporting industries as they transition toward safer and more sustainable practices.
