Project in Brunei – In May 2019, BMT was engaged to take several mercury monitoring measurements on a crude oil storage tank. The tank was undergoing an extensive cleaning and the mercury monitoring was essential to ensure the safety of all personnel involved in the cleaning.

BMT commenced with a thorough process to measure mercury vapor. This measurement is taken to determine what personal protective equipment is required for personnel cleaning the tank. To eliminate any risks, measurements were taken both in and around the tank. In addition, BMT carried out a volatile organic compounds level measurement.

All results of this meticulous process were integrated into a detailed daily report for the customer in December 2019, resulting in a safe cleaning process.
