BMT Asia Co., Ltd., Thailand’s leading mercury waste management specialist, joined the “Mangrove Reforestation for Biodiversity Life 2025” program, organized by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) at the Bangpoo Recreation Center in Samut Prakarn. The initiative reflects a shared vision of a Low-Carbon Society, where industry and nature grove together toward carbon neutrality.
The program aims to conserve mangrove forests, restore canal ecosystems, and expand green areas to enhance biodiversity in both habitats and species. It also supports industrial greenhouse gas management, raises awareness of the value of mangroves for climate resilience, and strengthens community and stakeholder engagement in restoration efforts.
The event brought together both public and private stakeholders, including local authorities and companies located within Bangpoo Industrial Estate. Together, participants planted more than 3,000 mangrove trees. This collective effort has the potential to sequester over 900 tons of CO2 throughout the trees’ lifetime – equivalent to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from more than 200 cars in a single year.
